Our Company’s Core Mission
Lost Horizon International Handicraft Industry’s core mission is to provide the basic & advanced training of New Zealand Wool (Felt products) in free of cost to the women who are financially weak and physically disable.
Our company is very much concentrate on promotion of the Nepalese handmade organic felt products to encourage and develop the skills and lifestyle of the poor women from remote terai & Himalayan parts of our country. So, we provide the employment opportunities as much as possible to the poor economic level women and the women from remote village. In addition we are also offering other benefits to them such as health-care, education, foods, clothes etc. to their children and many more. We trust on fair trade leading to social benefits and we do focus on selfless organizational profit and of course 100% free from child-labor .Thus, we select the suitable workers under the proper supervision of the company.

REAL STORY
Before Lost Horizon International Handicraft Industry, there wasn’t any felt handicraft industry to the remote area of Thankot ,Kathmandu and Meghauli- Chitwan of Nepal. Both regions are near to the jungle and river-side. Due to the lack of employment opportunity and poor financial condition of the local people in this areas, they were obligated to go to the community forest, national park and river-side for cutting wood, grass, collecting organic vegetable, fruits and fishing at river for their survival. But, we feel very much sorry to hear that many of these people have been killed by tiger, leopard, rhinoceros, wild elephant, poisonous snakes, and crocodile especially at Chitwan National Park. Therefore, there was really critical situation to the people who were obligated to stay close to the jungle and river. Then we decided to make them away from this situation by establishing a felt handicraft industries and provide them the job opportunity, which may be able reduce their financial problem as well as save their life from wild animals too. And of course our industry could protect environmental degradation indirectly.
From the above reasons our company’s board meeting had decided to open the main factory at Thankot, Kathmandu & branch factory at Meghauli ,Chitwan which is nearby Chitwan National park. Nowadays, we have been providing basic & advanced training of New Zealand wool felt products in free of cost to the poor financial women and also the women who are physically disable. Currently, more than 200 women are getting a job opportunity at main factory Thankot, Kathmandu. And more than 300 women are getting a job opportunity at branch factory Meghauli, Chitwan. Now, we became almost able to reduce poor women to go to risky forest areas, on another hand we protect environmental degradation indirectly and of course reduce poverty level of local people too.
In addition, from Lost Horizon Int’l Handicraft Industry has heartily being supporting to “Shree Saraswoti Secondary School”, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-28 (Jitpur), Chitwan, Nepal. Our company had built a science lab building where 750-850 students are getting lab benefits directly at this school as well as this company have been financially supporting to four children for their higher education from different region of Nepal ,they are 1.Unis Kumal from central Nepal of Chitwan district (his father is totally blind) 2. Sunil Chaudhary from west Nepal of Bake/Bardiya district and 3. Saruna Kumal & 4. Jusmin Kumal from central Nepal of Chitwan district, all of them are from weak economy background and their parents are working at our industry at Kathmandu and Chitwan district. Furthermore, this company have been distributing 8 new brand bicycles to +2 topper students from different college of Nepal to support and encourage them to achieve their higher education. We also are doing financial support to construct new black topped road, temples, health sector and many more for the infrastructural development of the local areas. And we also promise that, our such contributions will be continued in social, national and international level.
